PolitiFact is a site that fact checks things presidential candidates say and puts them up to the Truth-O-Meter. Times Washington Bureau Chief Bill Adair called me in May 2007 with an idea, and I translated that idea into the data-driven website you see today. The site is the first Django-driven project I completed.
Florida's Vanishing Wetlands
Florida's Vanishing Wetlands is the peak of my investigative reporting skills. It involved years of intense document research and 10 months of satellite imagery analysis never before attempted by a newspaper reporter. The story has won three national and as many state awards and will be published as a book in spring 2009.
